The murals include: the Mailboat “Orville G” to Cape Lookout, Wild sand ponies, Canadian geese used as decoys, and the Crissie Wright in 1886 winter storm. They were painted in 1939 by Simka Simkhovitch. These were commissioned by the United States government under President Roosevelt’s New Deal Federal Arts Program, which gave work to American artists during the Depression years from 1933-1943. 34th Annual Core Sound Decoy Festival

Maritime Heritage Series: Getting to Know Beaufort’s Dolphins

28th Annual John Costlow Train Show Opening

The train show offers a glimpse into the past with antique working model trains and model trains of all sizes. First Day Hike at Fort Macon

Join a Park Ranger for one of two “First Day” hikes at Ft. Macon State Park. Both hikes will start at 9 am from the Fort Visitor Center (Meet Out front near the water fountains and picnic tables).
