Our management company, Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company, recognizes the responsibility to support our broader community, serving others on a local, national and global scale.
The hotel company has partnered with Clean the World, a global organization that recycles and reuses complimentary toiletry items like shampoo, conditioner and soap that guests leave behind. These supplies help reduce the spread of deadly diseases like cholera and pneumonia that are preventable with proper hygiene.
Since 2009, this global initiative helps to save the lives of the 9,000 children who die each year due to illness, as well as sparing our landfills from more than 75,000 tons of waste.
It all started in 2009 with an organization called Clean the World, a new social enterprise with the mission of saving lives around the world by distributing recycled soap and hygiene products from hotel partners to families in counties with a high death rate due to pneumonia and cholera.
Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company led the social responsibility charge and was one of the program’s early adopters.
Today, more than 96% of Concord’s portfolio participates in the Clean the World program and together they have diverted more than 60 tons of waste away from landfills, created an estimated 500,000 bars of soap and saved more than 100,000 lives.
The Beaufort Hotel NC, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member is proud to be participating in this program.
